Schools out but, let's try to make some new healthy habits to start off the school year better and stronger! Eat a healthy breakfast, get plenty of sleep, spend time outside and remember to apply sunscreen! Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. I know this might be very anticlimactic but start your summer assignments early so you do not have to worry when school rolls around again! But remember the summer is a break so give yourself some time to rest! Most importantly spend some time volunteering at hospitals or engaging in a summer healthcare program to expand your knowledge on what is really out there in the healthcare field and maybe add a couple of things to your student resume as well!
Here is a list of summer programs for high school students in the medical field you can apply to for next summer: 54 Great Medical Programs for High School Students + Advice (prepscholar.com)
For our middle schoolers out there due to covid-19 lots of healthcare programs require you to be at least in the 9th grade, ask your guidance counselor if they know of any healthcare programs you can apply to! In the meantime here is a great youtube channel that I recommend watching on wonderful healthcare career information: Med School Insiders - YouTube
* I really recommend their "So you want to be....." playlist which has a video for many specialties within the medical field you might be interested in: So You Want to Be - YouTube
