Quirky Tips on how stay productive during the summer

How to stay productive during the summer?

While we may be experiencing summer break that does not mean you should take a break from building your future! Summer breaks should be used to get ahead, take opportunities you would not have time for during the school year, and yes have fun too. It can be discouraging when you feel like those around you are out on vacation, at the beach, watching a movie while you’re brushing up on your math skills, or attending a medical program. It’s important to remember what you are doing today will help your future self. I recommend that when constructing your To-Do lists you include a fun activity at the end of each day.

Whether it’s:

- watching an episode of your favorite show or movie

- reading your favorite book

- cleaning your room(for those like me who enjoy cleaning:D)

- cooking a new recipe

- eating your favorite treat

Rewarding yourself at the end of your day will help to motivate you to stay productive. It also helps you to feel like you’re enjoying your time off. Don’t overwork yourself or get caught up with feeling like you have to do everything. Believe it or not, giving yourself breaks helps you more, in the long run, to prevent burnout and improve your mental health. Studying, grades and medical opportunities are not as important as your mental health state. when you find yourself saying “I am an idiot” or “I hate myself” you are putting yourself down even though this might be a joke or an instinct. When you continually speak to yourself in a negative light you will start believing it. Productivity is all about balance; giving yourself what you need for you to get things done.
