Recent polls have shown that adolescents and teens are become obese at a faster rate than back in the day. There are kids that have Diabetes and High blood pressure. I also recall reading an article once that some babies are born with diabetes.
Gone are days when kids can eat whatever. Although we are young, we still have to be mindful of the foods that we are putting in our bodies. I know no one wants to worry about that when you have a ton of homework, and your parents are yelling at you for no reason again. But it is important especially for future health care professionals to be more aware.
Yeah, it's unfortunate that many children and adolescents are getting Diabetes and Hypertension. The best way to fight these chronic diseases is to eat healthy (meaning no food with extra sugars, fats, salts, etc.) and exercise daily:)
